Forum:IOTM reminder
Just a friendly reminder to you all that over at Illogicopedian of the Month we're supposed to be voting for who's been the best user this month, with past exploits a secondary priority. Don't make a mockery of the system now, else we may have another of those incidents on our hands. And nobody wants that, do they?
Also, get voting... you have the power to elect new IOTMs and, of course, featured articles! Toodleoo. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 11:11, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- i still think IOTM has lost all the interest it had, i think Awesome of the Month would be a good replacement, its nice to see that the site has burst into life again though:)--Silent PenguinLeave Me Alone 12:06, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps we could run Awesome of the Month concurrently? It could have a mint box thing of its own ont' front page. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 12:14, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
Um, the fact that we need a special reminder page shows how irrelevant the award is. And I'm not saying this because I've never won it - I'm saying this because I never (or hardly ever) bother to vote for it. --Nerd42 13:50, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, I say give this new format a chance first though. Meantime, any other suggestions on how we could change things? Our previous conversation kind of got cut off by that server blip last month. Oh, and this is more of a reminder to stop people voting for users who haven't been active in the last month, which kind of defeats the purpose of Illogicopedian of the Month. In this sense, I completely see what you mean though. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 16:25, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
T3's Wisdom[edit source]
It's not the award that's lost it's charm it's the MOTHER FUCKING users that use that as an excuse not to vote. Go to every single God damn democracy in the history of civilization and the fall is always the same reason. PEOPLE NOT CARING. The interest it had is lost because no one votes. As the great Yogi Berra once said, "No one goes there because it's too crowded" which in this case is the opposite but it makes sense. No one votes because, well, no one votes. Break the fucking cycle and type "For" or "Against". It will take, what?, 5 seconds? DO IT. --T3 22:03, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting point you have there. The problem is that people don't feel compelled to vote, in this case because they have a problem with the way it's set up and what it stands for... at least I think that's the problem. I know certain users (not mentioning any names) think there's some block voting going on - the whole thing is cheapened by 'chummy' vote patterns etc. That's one problem anyway, if the users feel the need to express themselves on this matter maybe we could get to the bottom of the whole thing, like. -- Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 22:11, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- There are many issues at hand here. On one side is what I said earlier. On the other, we have not many new users and that gets old users all like, "There's no one to nominate!!!!" Ugh.... I can't be bothered by this. Just never take away IOTM and blah-ity blah blah blah. --T3 22:15, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- IOTM has gone stale because there simply aren't enough active users to warrant a big award. I think. I mean, it's essentially become a cycle, with people taking turns to win, rather than a celebration of a user's hard work and input. Awesomeness of the month looks like a fun idea, as we would actually be voting based on a user's action, rather than sympathy voting for someone who hasn't won it yet. -- 22:51, 6 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's a mental state of mind that people have got into. Oh, this guy hasn't won it yet, let's nom him! If people could get that out of their brains it would work again. Personally, for this month's comp, I think Huge Bob ought to win. My opinion may change as the month progresses, but I think he has far and away been the last Illogicopedian in the last month.
- I'll repeat this: people, please stop nomming people just because 'they haven't won it yet'. You're cheapening the whole award and putting it in danger of extinction. I mean it. Hindleyak Converse • ?blog • Click here! 10:42, 8 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

Hello[edit source]
Greetings. This is RFK. I am sorry to inform you that I have not and will not be very active for the remainder of this week, until of course the weekend. I apoligize if I made anyone lonely by not editing much, I have been caught up in school and I had several football/soccer games, of course my team is undefeated (Because we rock!). I will be more active on the weekend, but not on Sunday, 5:30PM-10PM EST, as I will be at a bon fire. Cheers. --

If we ran the IOTM this way six months ago, I would've secured like ten of these awards. Remember when I was the only around here who edited? I do. I was thinking 'someone should nom me for IOTM cause i'm the only chap 'round here who gets on his arse and edits' but then no one did. And now we nom that way. ¬_¬ —rms talk 17:20, 12 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

- people, please stop nomming people just because 'they haven't won it yet'. You're cheapening the whole award and putting it in danger of extinction, said Hindleyite, being the only one this month to nom a useless noob :P--Ben Blade 19:35, 12 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
