Would you consider alternative dance music by any chance? Perhaps the likes of Slipmatt, Darren Styles, S3RL (but not songs like Dealer and MTC, ergh) or Brisk? Unfortunately, there are outward forces that threaten my fandom.

It comes in the form of two other musical groups: Brand New and Boards of Canada.

Brand New is a pop-punk/emo/alternative rock band. I initially became interested in them several months after learning that they're my best friend's favorite band (she was a Radiohead fan too when she was my age). I listened to their third album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, and was immediately blown away by the raw emotions and the severe catharsis present in their lyricism and their sound. With Radiohead, sometimes there is a slow but powerful catharsis, and sometimes it just makes you want to curl into a ball in a dark corner and die a peaceful death. With Brand New, however, the catharsis is near-immediate, making it far more powerful. Instead of crawling into a ball you want to yell and scream your head off (with a lot of tears) from this catharsis since the intense emotions expressed in their songs speak directly to you. In essence, Brand New brings out the demons that have been plaguing you throughout your entire adolescence, and those demons' demons are brought out as well. It was a very vivid experience, and I found that this album alone spoke to me more than most of Radiohead's discography (Kid A and Amnesiac really hit me hard like the album).

Boards of Canada is an electronic/downtempo duo. I discovered them on /x/ when a user posted the image of their second album, Geogaddi, and stated that in the thread they will discuss the messages and meanings behind the album and its songs. Prior to that, I would always encounter the song "Roygbiv" from their album Music Has the Right to Children whenever I would listen to stations called "The World of Radiohead" and "Sleepy Synths" on Songza. Anyway, I was intrigued by the elusive manner of the album and decided to give it a listen on YouTube.
At that moment, I was sitting alone at my desk in my dark bedroom with the only light source being my desk lamp. Listening to Geogaddi for the very first time turned out to be the most fearful and paranoia-inducing experience I ever had. It satiated my twisted psychological masochism to the fullest extent and left me shaken up for two days. Afterward, I could not stop listening to it. From there, I decided to delve deeper into their mysterious work and found three other complex psychological and ideological narratives that totally opened my world.
