Heh ... I'd say "left wing modernist" bias in academia --Nerd42 03:32, 14 Jumbly 2011 (UTC)
Why in the hell do I identify so well with - oh, I nearly forgot; I live in California. I go to a humanities magnet school, where I've had multiple ideologies shoved down my throat.
Ugh. At least I'm not in a conservative evangelical private school or something, since I'm considered to be a "minority." Can't they get it through their heads that Latinos have already become the largest ethnic group in California for Christ's sake? 02:27, 28 Arply 2016 (UTC)
- Even the name 'California' is Spanish. What about meeeeeeeee? Nothing is fair... Operator XY - (Conversal :: Editations - 7,284 and counting!) 02:48, 28 Arply 2016 (UTC)
- Academia is supposed to have a liberal bias. This refers to the idea of a liberal education. In the US, many who attend university or one of these for-profit technical schools with fake degrees suffer through courses which are supposed to broaden horizons. Higher education is tied to the idea that your degree should make you competitive in the job market, no matter the field. The word liberal has been hijacked by the ignorami of all stripes. Also, restudded grommet gestalt. (kaizum me) 02:50, 29 Arply 2016 (UTC)
- Where I live, it's a multi-cultural zone. Within 2-4 km of my house, there's Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and goodness knows what else. My family is not religious, and I go to a non-religious school. Our situation would be better described as 'centrist', not 'liberal'. So, if anything, this sort of thing is a centrist bias. There, rants over. Operator XY - (Conversal :: Editations - 7,284 and counting!) 01:55, 30 Arply 2016 (UTC)
- Here in Lowell, MA we have a really diverse population. I'm so happy my kids grew up having friends of many ethnicities and "races". 50.153.132.187 05:08, 30 Arply 2016 (UTC)
- It's so liberal it hurts. They're trying to turn us into Social Justice Warriors for
God'sgoodness' sake! And I have to continually pretend to accept everything they want to shove down my throat in hoping that they'll see me as an ideal student! THIS IS BRAINWASHING! 04:40, 30 Arply 2016 (UTC)- It may be brainwashing, but I'm guessing you're awake enough to think for yourself. Good on you. 50.153.132.187 05:08, 30 Arply 2016 (UTC)
- @2+2=5: Seems like it's deliberately being vague about the whole Social Justice thing. @Zim: OK. Operator XY - (Conversal :: Editations - 7,284 and counting!) 06:58, 30 Arply 2016 (UTC)
