Forum:IOTY - AOTY - POTY?

From Illogicopedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

For those who don't speak abbreviationish, I'm asking the question : Is there gonna be An Illogicopedia of the year, Article Of The year and Image of the year? I think somebody brought this up earlier in the year that we don't have a formal year awards thing - which is kind of a shame, as its always good to look back on the year.

What I thought is that there should be a AOTM type voting system applying to all articles, users and images which do not necessarily have to have won a Monthly award. In a nutshell, I'm just putting forward a question to the werewolf-admin-overlords in case nobody else did.

I did something with articles once. And it would be nice to get some appreciation around here for it. For this lack of appreciation I've determined that somebody should include me in an article, and not just any article at that, one that gets bloody featured. Then I will be a real star.
And oh, benny, good idea, I'm all for at least To Ten articles which I kicked in the rear a while ago and a user of the year. —rms talk 00:00, 16 Ditzimber 2009 (UTC)
How's about we start off with an 'Article of the Year' vote, only this time, like, we have about a month to vote? -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 11:46, 20 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
Sounds great, but I can't exactly go organizing it so yeah :P —rms talk 15:37, 20 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
And we should have an award. With a statue. And a nickname. Like, the Gramophone Awards are the Grammies, etc. I'll go look for something! --(ƒî)» 16:02, 20 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
ooh I wanna organise it :x MMF3.jpgMyMetalFratboytalk 23:04, 20 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
Is this acceptable, Illogiward.png or should we go for a statue? --(ƒî)» 23:18, 20 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
@F.I. - That is beautiful.
@Everyone else - I LAIK THA IDEYUH --T3 01:15, 21 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
Starry4.png Also, there should be 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. --(ƒî)» 04:04, 21 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
One of us should start this up sooner or later. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 11:12, 30 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)

How does this look?rms talk 20:11, 30 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)

neato, can voting start now? :P MMF3.jpgMyMetalFratboytalk 20:21, 30 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
I'll get those awards back. If you want them, of course --(ƒî)» 23:34, 30 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
We really don't need anything special for the articles, just a cool small template would be nice. (Check the previous Top Ten articles, they have a little template on them) —rms talk 00:29, 31 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but I feel something should go to the creator. --(ƒî)» 00:56, 31 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)
Methinks we should just have people vote, and if someone has their article(s) get the Top Ten Award, they can mark that on their articles like how they mark features if they so choose. But as for a template or award? It's just an article. —rms talk 02:31, 31 Jeremy 2010 (UTC)

where'd this go --68.9.226.101 06:05, 30 Serpeniver 2010 (UTC)

it went over there
see, that place?
I presume you're referring to the place where all the started-but-never-finished Illogicopedia mini-projects go. In which case, I agree. *nods* -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 18:31, 1 Octodest 2010 (UTC)
3/4 of which are mine. --T3 01:04, 2 Octodest 2010 (UTC)
I know this is kind of abandoned, but it's a good idea. There should be Illogicopedian of the year, but not article of the year and image of the year. I think that would just be too hard - picking a single article or image out of all the ones we have. If you did do that you would have to say that only featured articles and images can compete. But if no one picks this up and there was no point in me saying anything. *Wanders away*--Sig.png (Talk) (Contributions) 04:27, 3 Octodest 2010 (UTC)
Technically, there's never any point to anything. On that note, noodle? Oh, yes, I would like a noodle. Er... I wasn't talking to you. What, you were talking to that dork? Dammit, shut up! No, you! ...ugh. Not this again... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101003 - 07:52 (UTC)
Aha, now that's the spirit! Apathy for the absolute win. Therein lies all of Illogicopedia's failings and glories! -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:14, 3 Octodest 2010 (UTC)
In the end I have to agree with you. Although finding a cure for cancer would have a point, would it not?--Sig.png (Talk) (Contributions) 23:09, 3 Octodest 2010 (UTC)
In the grand scheme of things, there wouldn't be much point to that, either... And apathy does rather solve much... ~ Pointy.png *shifty eyes* (talk) • (stalk) -- 20101004 - 00:28 (UTC)
If YOU got cancer, would it have a point THEN?--Sig.png (Talk) (Contributions) 00:38, 4 Octodest 2010 (UTC)
