Furniture

Furniture is one of the most important and valued items in the lives of people. In fact, it is often as valued as people themselves. This is why it's such a valued sport to watch furniture, and why so many are worried about cats stealing it (though the latter group seem to be predominantly conservatives).

Sometimes, the line between people and furniture even becomes unclear; people may at times be used as furniture, and furniture may at times be soulful – and in the era of "smart devices", intelligent as well. High-IQ furniture which is possessed by a soul may live and work and experience many ups and down, much like people, though unlike people it may be more sturdily built and last longer.

Perhaps the relationship between people and furniture is a little like that between people and cacti. People may sometimes think of themselves as cacti, but much more common is that cacti falsely think of themselves as people. But if this is common enough, perhaps there is nothing wrong with that, and it is normal that many people, maybe even most, are really cacti in disguise.
