It seems that overtime more and more the number of edits on ?pedia go farther down the drain. I feel it's sorta not fun anymore to edit because theres only maybe 3 or 4 people looking at the edits. We'll run out of articles, IOTM, and users if we don't get more. I had stopped editing for awhile because it seemed like no one was on this site, or IRC. I edit and I feel like my articles are not being read. Maybe this article will never be read. I'm not entirely sure but I do know this. We need to have a larger and more active community. I know I know you guys are active but who? Hindly, Testes, SilentPenguin, RFK, RMS, Nerd42, and T3 may be the only ones I see ever editing most of the time. If no one is reading my articles, what is the point of staying on the site? mwow513My Articles!Talk to me 01:02, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)

I think it's because we need a new cycle of users. When I joined within those months joined RMS and Dxpenguinman in a like three month span. New users come in bunches. When old Illogicopedia users retire, we can't just tip our hat and say, "Cheerio", WE NEED NEW BLOOD. That's why I've been trying to get it but no one seems to want to care about Illogicopedia like I do and it frustrates me to an unlimited end. I whole-heartily agree with Mwow and we can't just sit around on our lazy asses/arses and wait for new users to come and find us. Now that we left Wikia, there's no easy way to find the communitah and we need to make one. It seems as the edits and the site altogether decline, so do those projects of expanding our horizons. I want to do something but what can I do? I'm just a tiny fish in a really, really big pond that is the Internet. --T3 02:37, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
I just want to say I go on every once in a while. I still exist. :P --Penguin-chick evil.jpg Dxpenguinman, the Penguinman ...He's e-vile! Talk Got An Idea? GAMESHOW! 07:55, 15 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
I'm that fish that has like twenty hooks stuck in its mouth :P Anyway, someone should just go spam something at Uncyc or something, and that might hook some users in. —rms talk 04:40, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
Activity on illogicopedia tends to fluctuate. It'll perk up. I believe that the old wikia version of ?pedia has been unlocked recently, so that might have something vaguely to do with it. I'm personally at a loss about marketing our site to get more people. Someone proposed a forum in BHOP on uncyclopedia. that'd be good, because uncyclopedia is a great source of new users. If anyone knows any surrealist websites we might be able to gently mention illogicopedia. We don't want to seem like obnoxious spammers though. But more people will come. --THE 05:53, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
The fact that when north american users are on it often rifts with the times we edit is a factor. When you get back from school its midnight in teh euroope. Ever since ReadMeSoon the age of new users has gone down dramaticaly. Take Pipichy and Most of our vandals; they are the people were attracting. The only place we can actually get decent new users from is from more experienced - Uncyclopedia editors. Its probably just a summer phase of low users, and we had them a lot in the olden days. Read the hitchikers guide. Dont panic--Ben Blade 12:50, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
I say a viral marketing campaign, with promotional videos and stuff. Some one buy some ad space or something, and get to it. I have to go to a wedding in a few hours (ugh). Just to warn you, nobody do anything to make me mad because I have been having a bad week and I'm a ticking time bomb. And I will probally go off on some one get myself banned. And I don't want that. I want to say more but I don't know what to say.....-- Ragglefraggleking Is Eating Your Bagels 13:33, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
I agree with RFK to a certain level but honestly, I'm pretty sure Hindleyite is the only user with a job so that's kinda out of the question. Unless he wants to put in his $35 (generous guesstamation) dollars and hour into an adspace then more power to him but I doubt he would and honestly I don't blame him. I just hate thinking about the sinking ship that is Illogicopedia. I've put in many hours of my life to try to keep this going but I can just see our fate of being a washed-up wiki with little or no activity. So seriously, don't let my premonition come true. --T3 15:18, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
Incidentally, I'm earning just about enough to live at the moment but when I get my ultimate job at the money factory, then things will be different. I really should do something like a viral campaign or whatever but it's a case of finding the time. I do have loads of ideas for projects though -- not explicitly mentioning any right now so you won't be disappointed when they don't come to fruition... oh, alright then, the Dunno Brothers -- so maybe one or two of them can be modified to promote Illogico? -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:03, 7 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
You got it all wrong. We gotta go social Darwinist! Survival of the fittest. Stamp out all competition and all that malarkey --sob 13:40, 7 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

The pickle is actually known to decrease activity. Betcha didn't know that. IRC. --T3 15:21, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
Exactly. This is illogicopedia y'know :P. seriously though I do get what you mean. I'm guilty of inactivity and for that I apologize, I've just had major writer's/everythinger's block for a while now. Probably the allure of having to actually do work at uni will be enough to set me on the ?pedia-instead-of-productive-stuff road cos that's where I flourish best :P MMF3.jpgMyMetalFoxxy Lovetalk 15:27, 12 Serpeniver 2009 (UTC)
Can we not have something other than a Pickle contest, like, something different until the next one? I dunno what though. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:03, 7 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
We could do what the WWE did when the ratings were low and hold a Bikini Babes Contest. Although I think not many users would be willing to do that... including me. Because I'm too sexy for those. Anyway... we may also attract more users by selling 'sexual intercourse'. Who's with me?
No, just me? Ah well. You don't know what you're missin'... *cracks whip*
I'm willing to make a viral video advertising Illogicopedia. Lets hope it makes it onto Rude Tube! No, that isn't some dodgy 'sexual intercourse' site I've stumbled upon while drinking Pepsi... *scutters off to watch dodgy videos* DG |Chatty Chaps| 17:09, 7 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good, let's do sommat about the Dunno Brothers. Wait, why am I telling you this on a forum when you're just down the hall and I can knock on your door?
Also, the bikini babes thing sounds good. I'm sure Testicles and MetalFlower can provide us with some o' those. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 18:22, 7 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
Maybe we could choose some of our better articles and turn them into videograms? I hear the kids these these days love videograms, always watching them on facetube... --Plant2.png Jonsig.png 18:43, 7 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

The SomeWHAT emergency escape plan[edit source]

PART 1: A NEW USERBASE[edit source]

I have some good friends who are very illogical and would probably be interested in this site. I'll give them the scoop sometime soon. In the future. Some WHAT!? (talk) (contribs) (edit count) 01:47, 9 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

PART 2: A GREAT PROJECT[edit source]

I'm creating a series of articles that are just to increase our count and make us tower over Wackypedia. They have no content except a stub template. However, I plan for several people, probably including myself, to edit these until they are feature-quality. So everybody who's reading this should edit them. They begin at Articles created to look better than Wackypedia: 1 and then increase in number. Edit them until they are on VFF. This may seem aimless, but this is Illogicopedia. Anything can happen. We're magical. Some WHAT!? (talk) (contribs) (edit count) 01:47, 9 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

Strange concept, but it may just work. Let's have a go... -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 21:18, 9 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

Thought[edit source]

Not even sure if I'm supposed to post here, but marketing suggestion: Create articles based on Google's hourly hottrends data, such as this one from today: "Once upon a time in the west"
Surely, one of you can come up with an illogical western story? It'll give illogicopedia more google hits. --Flyingidiot (ƒî)»

Not a bad idea, however I have tried this on my own blog and it's been relatively hit or miss since the trends on the hourly report tend to come and go quicker than The Yorkshire Ripper. I get your point though, we ought to embrace pop culture topics, get them up to featureable standard and we might get some of the Google juices flowing. Also, has anybody done anything about the bikini contest yet? -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 12:07, 12 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
Bikini contest, you say? Because He makes a twirl in life, my box is broken help me blue elephant. Isn't lettuce brave? I like electrons, hello, beautiful?!?!?

Also, perhaps I could make a bot or something that detects common searches in Hot Trends and spits them out to a template to create articles (I.E, today people are searching for things related to Christopher Columbus, and Columbus Day)... Hmm..

Also, I see another problem. Google any sentence from an illogicopedia article, and it shows up under Wackypedia, or else not at all. Illogicopedia isn't even in google.--(Ĕ) 15:04, 12 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
Excuse me? [1] Some WHAT!? (talk) (contribs) (edit count) 01:30, 13 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
Try it yourself, click randumb page and copy a phrase from the article, Wackypedia shows up. --(Ĕ) 02:07, 13 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
he's right, check this... MMF3.jpgMyMetalFoxxy Lovetalk 02:48, 13 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
How bout' this? Go to google trends, and make an article for everything that's on the top 100. But change it a bit. So if I dunno....Transfloopers 2 is on, go change it to something like....I dunno. Just do. --Penguin-chick evil.jpg Dxpenguinman, the Penguinman ...He's e-vile! Talk Got An Idea? GAMESHOW! 07:50, 15 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
That's a mighty huge undertaking, considering the trends change every hour or so. We could pick out some of the more popular ones that seem to be sticking around the top and create articles on those though. As for Wackypedia leeching our articles, yep, that's a real barstard we've kind of known (and tried to ignore, else it makes our blood boil) for ages - thankfully, a search for Illogicopedia currently puts us higher. -- Hindleyak  Converse?blogClick here! 11:18, 15 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
I know, I'll make a category and fill it with articles with titles from hot trends. As for the Wackypedia leeching, have you considered nuclear war?
Also, perhaps we could... no, nevermind. --(ƒî)» 16:05, 15 Octodest 2009 (UTC)

Well, I hope the website doesn't sink.--MrMan 00:18, 24 Octodest 2009 (UTC)
