As you may or may not be aware, some of Illogicopedia's administrators have been half-arsedly seeking a new host. We have now found something which looks suitable and have been making preparations to move, namely feeding Seppy adequate amounts of fish, fending Nerd42 off with a tire iron, and keeping me sedated.

Anyway, I've sent carlb the following email requesting the database; for the sake of transparency or some such I'm posting it here, since I assume folks'll wander by sooner or later.

Dear Mr. Bennett,

On behalf of the Illogicopedia community, I would like to thank you for your years of generous hosting services, keeping our wiki and all its madness for the most part up and functioning through all manner of weirdness. Unfortunately, after consideration of the overall situation, the administrators of Illogicopedia have decided that it is time to seek a new host.

Although the decision has been made, the question of how exactly we will proceed with the move itself remains. As you well know, it is only possible to access so much of a wiki from the front end in order to move it that way, so we would ask for your help once again - we need an SQL dump of the database.

Please respond at your earliest convenience, as we need to know whether or not the database will be provided before we can take the next step. As always, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Not so far as I can discern. I have not personally taken any action in this direction, but my doctor wrote me a note saying I don't have to. Even if I wanted to, I'd have to learn more about wikia stuff first. I'm dangerous enough when I know what I'm doing. 17:10, 2 Ditzimber 2012 (UTC)
