Grinder

An essential piece of American culture

Grinder is a social media network of people who love grinder sandwiches. Like God, this sandwich has many names. Also called a submarine, hoagie, wedge and hero, it's origins are shrouded in the mysteries of deep American time. There is no concensus of who, when or where this little beauty originated, but there is a core group of users at Grinder who argue their hypotheses vigorously. This group call themselves Birthers.

Most users upload pictures and recipes for grinders and related foods. Most discussion involves tips, techniques, meats, vegetables, condiments and favorite restaurants. One idea that is overwhelmingly agreed upon is that shops run by people of Mediterranean descent make the best grinders and pizza. There is some argument about the spiritual roots of the grinder going back to Plato.
