First, I'll state that I almost certainly won't become as active as I once was; that said, I may drop in from time to time. So perhaps a semi-rare occurrence. (less rare than during my time of no activity, though that isn't saying so much)

The reason I gradually phased out my involvement here was simply that I felt it time to move along; I've enjoyed my time here, and it seems you people did likewise - it was the combination of having less time and having to juggle more things, which is still the case, and also things getting a bit stale: Looking back at the first things I wrote, they (though often short by present standards) were at the time quite original; since, editing, both mine and that of others, seems for the most part to have become increasingly mechanical and formulaic as people formed and settled into habits.

Yeah, I decided to delete it. Seeing that there's an external wiki like that makes it clearer that it should remain closed (unless redone genuinely differently).

For the record, the history of the Illogicopedia store is that of popping up shortly after other things, where sockpuppets (unnamed LTA) spammed stuff imitating other wikis and references to wikis among other things. That included another similar store except without Illogi-theming. But when it appeared, IllogiStore looked a bit less like that and fulfilled the "interesting to look at" criterion for content at least.

I decided that as long as it remained firmly Illogi-themed, why not let it be? But then it grew, several new accounts including sockpuppets began editing it and edit-warring with other members, and it just became a pain. Just like the earlier sockpuppets which tried to add lots of junk en-masse and doing it over and over, I'm banning whoever pops up with similar behavior regarding this. --Fluffalizer 13:20, 2 Jeremy 2026 (UTC)

Welcome. Those articles are all fine.

The community never really developed anything structured like that. Most old-timers drifted away in (or even by) the 2010s, and waves of activity come and go as some gain and lose interest. When there were more active old-timers, often little campaigns, like little writing contests and/or more reviewing and discussing things happened from time to time. Yeah, looked suspicious from early on, but I don't like to ban with no more than "looks sus". This sockmaster tends to make new socks quickly, then later the behavior begins to escalate. The last days, I noticed escalation too. Before, I left this user to observe while almost certain it was another sock; if banned earlier, I'm sure it would have been replaced with another new sock which likewise escalates later. Now I did ban (icing on cake is how it tried to censor your message on this talk page). Thankfully, it's not a smart vandal. Unfortunately, it's a very persistent sort.

Another sign for this socker is a focus on genAI among suspicious new users. (The same sockmaster doing the "store" stuff almost certainly did Illogicopedia "AI", the latter now deleted too.) Which makes for boring articles (not "interesting to look at") but I left it at first when it looked like just one page where someone had a chat sandbox thing. It also makes it quick for sockers to create new personas, and their (prior socks') lengthier texts including forum messages seem like such slop (this vandal can't write well on its own). --Fluffalizer 12:16, 2 Yoon 2026 (UTC)

There's never been one leader, rather a bunch of admins who just do stuff (mostly in agreement with one another since the others go "eh, I suppose that's good"). Things get done as long as at least one such person gets to it, unfortunately 2022 and 2025 no one got featured pages changed.

Currently there were 2 articles already voted on which ought to be featured. Thanks for the reminder, as I left that to others the last years, leaving those 2 hanging. Good electricity and bad electricity (now featured), and ISO (up next). More articles beyond that still need more voting first, unless we change how things are done.

There may be a point to looking for more admins. Can be discussed on the forum pages here (such happened previously in the last years, can happen again), then on the Discord and/or at User talk:Athyria you can request it done technically. I agree on all but one page in QD (which was older than recent edit). I've cleared them out. Problem with them all was lack of originality IMO.

Generally, I'm lenient when someone makes a few truly crappy pages -- usually they're deleted sooner or later, but if it's not many and there's nothing pointing to a sock of a known vandal, it's not a bannable offense. That's because n00bs could make a mix of such pages and better ones. But being a PITA is a bannable offense. I.e. give them some rope and see what they do with it.

As for the Svex sock, it's rarer now than before, but I guess several of our now-older LTAs keep popping in once in a while (looking at edit filter activity)... --Fluffalizer 21:16, 4 Serpeniver 2026 (UTC)

As the time approaches (in or by December) it'd be good to contact whoever's available of the oldest Illogicopedians, e.g. Hindleyite who comes around occasionally, to see if any of them want to join in.
