Phosphorus

Phosphorus is a strange animal. It's a parasite.

It doesn't work like most parasites though.

It hides itself in the middle of nowhere and then gets into one's lungs through inhalation. Unfortunately, since not breathing will cause you to die, and breathing puts you at risk from phosphorus, there is no prevention, save what the French existential philosophers call "the painless option".

Phosphorus is found in matches. It is an immigrant in the matches, which is why the Conservative Party of Luciferistan has decided to get rid of all the phosphorus and use Wonderful Super Xtra Organic Match-Fire-Strike Compounds^TM for all their needs.
